The summer is an exciting time at Redeemer, when both incoming and returning students participate in the life of the seminary. Many will take intensive Greek throughout the summer, while others will take elective courses or be on the short-term mission team to Africa. Whether abroad or stateside, new or returning, students at Redeemer will be busy!
GREEK
Ten credits of Greek study is required for both the M.Div. and M.A.R. programs, so we offer it in an intensive setting from June through August. While an intense period of study, it is also an opportunity to make relationships that will last through the rest of seminary and into a lifetime of ministry. The instructor of Greek 1 and 2, Rev. Bill Burns, is passionate about not only instructing students in the Greek language, but also in shepherding them toward a greater love for Jesus and His Word through the study of the New Testament’s original language.

Beginning on July 16th, Dr. Mike Rasmussen will be teaching a one credit-hour elective course called “Evangelism and the Local Church.” Dr. Rasmussen has been a part of multiple church plants and has a passion for seeing people come to know Jesus for the first time.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________SENEGAL MISSION TRIP: June 29 – July 7, 2012
This summer, we are partnering with Park Cities Presbyterian Church on an eight-day mission trip to Senegal, West Africa. As an institution, we desire to give our students a vision for serving the local church and the international church, so we offer this trip as both a ministry opportunity and an elective course for seminary credit. Students may earn two semester hours of academic credit (with completion of academic assignments for PTM 650 Cross-Cultural Mission Trip) or complete seminary Mentored Ministry hours by participating.
To encourage students to participate in cross-cultural ministry opportunities, we are offering 100% scholarships for the tuition portion of the trip. This is a value of $860 at full tuition rates.
